Course Content

This course gives you an in-depth knowledge of Critical Lift and transportation plans for onshore, inshore and offshore heavy load handling operations. You will be taken through the process of formulating a series of lift plans based on multiple scenarios, rigging methods, transportation plans, safety checklist and contingency plans as recommended in Lift Plan regulations and codes of practice.

Participants will learn to make sound decisions during a construction sequence, selection of lifting equipment and multi-axle line trailers, in addition to performing analysis on lifted structures.

  • Overview of Engineering Design, Fabrication, Installations and operations
  • Coordinate navigation for installation and inspection
  • Design review using some ASME B, ASTM, BS and EN standards and code in piping discipline
  • Types of cranes and lifting equipment
  • Familiarise in ASME B, BS and EN standards and codes of practice in lifting and rigging discipline.
  • Load distribution, Rigging plan calculations & selection
  • Different Crane lifting plan for single and multiple crane lifts & Ground bearing pressures for cranes
  • Padeye design
  • Vessel mooring plan and lifting plan
  • SPMT loading plan with hydraulic stability & SPMT structural stability calculation
  • Lashing calculations
  • Stability of transport equipment and stability during lifting activities
  • Study load capacity on various vehicle types including SPMT’s and platform trailers
  • Load securing: Come to terms with lashing / securing / dunnaging
  • Engineering calculations and its application in rigging and training applications
  • Practical examples in the Use of AutoCAD in Lift planning; rigging Planning and SPMT transportation planning
  • Practical examples in the use of SACs software in structural modelling and lifting analysis
  • Practical examples in the use of STAAD Pro software in structural modelling and lifting analysis
