Reliability Engineering is an engineering practice that deals with the ability of an equipment /system to perform its intended function under stated conditions in a specified period. It is an engineering approach that ensures that a system /equipment operate optimally as designed using different tools and measures. It helps organizations to make a workplace cost reductions by avoiding failures. Failures in business have a negative impact on the profitability of the company.  Reliability engineering is broad-based and has wider application in the field of manufacturing, production, operations, maintenance, processing e.t.c There is still low awareness of Reliability Engineering practices in Africa as a whole and Nigeria in particular.
